The CMS SS/LS reports contain reporting on the current Short Stay (SS) and Long Stay (LS) quality measures from CMS as defined in the MDS 3.0 Quality Measures User Manual. The purpose of these reports is to give an overview of how your facility is doing with these Quality Measures.
The CMS QM report group includes a Resident List report, as well as the Quality Measures report. Like the MDSI Metrics report on the MDSI Metrics report tab, the layout and information are similar, only using CMS Quality Measures logic. The Measures are calculated for the report dates selected by the user with the filters’ Most Recent MDS ARD and Comparison End Date. The logic has built in the CMS look-back scan logic, according the QM manual. So, the report results will show the most recent MDS for the residents in the reporting period, and depending on the reporting period selected, using CMS methodology for short stay or long stay, they will group accordingly.
When the “Summary” box is checked in the report, you will see a collapsed view of the quality measures that just includes the F-Tag the measure relates to, number of residents triggering out of number of residents who are eligible for trigger for that metric, percentage of resident in the reporting period triggering, and then percentage of residents triggering for the measure in the comparison period.
If you uncheck the Summary box, you’ll see more details on each measure- specifically, which residents are triggering for the measure.
